Scott Kelby, author of photographic books organises an annual Worldwide Photo Walk - this year on Saturday 24 July 2010....!
The Big Chief has registered, and will lead this photo walk, at a very special venue - Bush Babies, The Monkey Sanctuary, at Hartebeestpoort.
Have a look at the official Photowalk page, and sign up for the walk there. There is a maximum of 50 people permitted, so get there quick! For this event you HAVE TO SIGN UP ON THE WORLD WIDE PHOTO WALK PAGE!
There is no charge for the tour, but Bushbabies does levy a R50 conservation fee, which the Big Chief will cover, should you not be able to.

Walk through natural indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways and experience a variety of exotic monkeys in an exquisite natural environment. Bush Babies rescues monkeys previously raised as pets or bred for the pet trade. It is an excellent outing and one that will offer many excellent photographic opportunities.
Bush Babies Monkey Sanctuary is one of only eight free-release primate sanctuaries globally. Primates are received on the basis of public donation and supported by funding generated by guided tours and the sales of curios.
Primates, such as our squirrel and capuchin monkeys, are given a new lease on life at Bush Babies. Previously raised as household pets or bred for the pet trade, their monkeys are introduced to a wild world laden with waterfalls, lush vegetation, natural mountain springs and the chance to reside in as natural an environment as possible. Their goal is to give them the opportunity to live as they would in the wild.
Bush Babies recognizes the importance of public education. Not only are their tours highly informative, but they strive to create an awareness toward the benefit of releasing primates into sanctuaries such as theirs. You will leave the tour with the understanding that monkeys do not make good pets, and that they are better suited to a natural, free-living environment.
I look forward to joining you on a wonderful walk through their sanctuary where we will enjoy the splendour of our natural environment to the fullest.
I have made arrangements with Bushbabies - The Monkey Sanctuary, for free entrance to their facility, and the tour will be free of charge to anyone wanting to join me. They do charge a conservation fee of R50 per person, which I am happy to cover for the opportunity of leading a walk though their very special facility. Bushbabies provides a guide who will take us round the forest, and will tell us all about the facility and the monkeys that we will see - the guides are very knowledgeable and will hep you to make the most of the experience.

All tours are structured and guided. We will walk through natural indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways and experience a variety of exotic monkeys in an exquisite natural environment. The tour will last about 2 hours, after which we can share our experiences over a toasted sandwich, burger and drinks at the Monkey Sanctuary's restaurant (I have negotiated preferential rates there too!)
You can find out more about the facility on their website http://www.monkeysanctuary.co.za and there is a detailed map available here: http://www.monkeysanctuary.co.za/images/map_large.jpg
Also have a look at the article published on Afripixel at www.afripixel.com, for details on the walk.
