Afripixel Schools Competition Rules...

Posted in

Afripixel wants to encourage our future photographers to develop their skills in photography, and to appreciate the beauty that lies around us. Afripixel Schools Competitions will run in conjunction with specific schools that are selected by Afripixel, and will be exclusive to that school.

Restrictions on participation
1. Only current pupils or staff of the selected school may participate.
2. Judging will be undertaken by a panel from the selected school and Afripixel.
3. Entries must be submitted to the relevant Afripixel Schools Competition Gallery in order to be considered.

Rules for Afripixel Schools Competitions:
By submitting images to an Afripixel Schools Competition, you are agreeing to the following:

1. The judges’ decision on all matters relating to the competition will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Should the quality of entries fall below the standard required, Afripixel reserves the right not to award prizes.
2. Prizes are not transferable, and will not be converted into cash or other alternatives.
3. Images must be taken specifically by the entrant, who will warrant that all permissions necessary have been obtained from persons and locations displayed in the images submitted.
4. You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in the photographs entered. By entering a photograph(s) into any Afripixel Competition, you agree to grant a royalty-free non-exclusive license to Afripixel, its affiliates, and the sponsors of the competition, to allow the photograph(s) entered to be published in connection with the competition, and used by Afripixel at its discretion. In all instances where the image is used, the photographer's name will be credited and attached to the image.
5. Finalists will be requested to submit a full-sized high resolution image to Afripixel for use in printed materials, along with full model release forms from each person depicted in the image, and a property release form for any identifiable properties.
6. No entry fee is required. Maximum 5 entries per person.
7. Photographs may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or scratches or to make images brighter, clearer etc, but the content may not be manipulated. The judges reserve the right to exclude any photograph they believe has been excessively treated, so as to alter its authenticity.
8. Entries may only be submitted by means of the Afripixel website.
9. All entrants agree that any photograph(s) they submit to the competition, may be used by Afripixel for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to Afripixel and the competition. This useage may include publication on the Afripixel website, marketing material or gallery exhibition. Use may also include publication in a sponsor publication.
10. Any photographs used by Afripixel or the sponsors shall carry a credit to the photographer.
11. Rules may be changed or modified without notice.
